Flame on if I sound like a total retard =p Thanks in advance! For gear advice it may be an idea to post a magelo (www.magelo.com) , but yep, I am no expert on pala gear, and dont know the class that well, and without a magelo it makes it harder to give advice (at least for me, not knowing the class).

well.. since i'm the resident rmmp export advocate, i would like to tell you that, yes, you can get an export to sound good.. but you may have to shell out a few eq1 frosted on the batter with a coated ambassador on the resonant side <which my g/f drew a logo for me.. gotta love her> and no muffling.. it's low,

I think the combination would have to include the Massive Passive (wonderful shelving filters, great sound, gives the music a nice lift) and also something surgical with no signature(the Sontec is great and also Maselec, the NSEQ-2 is not as flexible(ONLY 4 BANDS, you should also look at the new Weiss digital EQ).

The counterweight on my EQ1 is placed just about half way up the shaft. To balance this correctly, you rotate the RA axis until the weight shaft is Does this sound about right considering this is a light ST scope? Sound Problem
comSPLAT rec music makers percussion I need some professional advice on how I can update the sound of my Rogers "classic" drumset. The set is from about 1965-66 and sounds pretty good Evans' EQ1, Attack's No Overtone, and Aquarian's SuperKick 1 are all similar to the PS3 in case you have brand name preferences.

Comparing EQ2 & WoW to EQ1
The EQ1, I thought, was a bit boomy. The EQ2 knocks you flat. It has a small grill in front. This is where the mike is placed. I have acheived a killer sound using an AKG D-112 about one inch in front of this grill. On any PA with a 15" or larger speaker with at least 400W pushing it will give you a case of

The bass drums were 22x16 with evans (EQ1?) and the snare was a 14x5 (evans heads). I did not check Tamas bass drum edges. I had the same things happen. Nobody could tell the difference between the 2 sets. In my opinion these things matter the most in the sound. 1. The tuning. No matter what the heads,

Between the two, feelwise I prefer Ambassadors on my toms and TCs on my snares, but they're pretty interchangeable for me, sound-wise. For the kick, the Force I is Aquarian's PowerStroke 3/EQ1/No Overtone equivalent. Oh, and I skipped your vent question. IMHO, the only situation I would go with a no-vent shell

Suggestions for heads on Sonor Designer?
Anyway, the sound is real dead, the drum has no resonance. When IA/B the 24" with a similar Signature 22" that I have, the difference is insane. The 22 has an EQ1 clear batter and a Remo CS batter on the resonant side , the 24 has an EQ1 coated batter and a Sonor Thin head on the resonant side.

To further address the original poster's question, I'd try either Evans EQ1 or EQ3 heads (on both batter and resonant) with a 6" hole off center on the front head. I use no other muffling inside the drum. With regards to recording, is a better sound achieved with a hole in the front head and the mic _inside_,
